I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Vehicle Crime - theft from / theft of, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

On the evening of 12/08/2025 we noticed an increase in theft from motor vehicles in the Biddenham area. This style of crime is directed related to our local priority, and we aim to do what we can to prevent this from happening going forward.

Patrols this evening will be increased by officers in this area, however we ask that you all remain vigilant. If you see/hear anything suspicious, please report this on 101/999 where appropriate. Further to this, if anyone within this area has any footage of suspicious activity last night, please call on 101 and provide this.

Safeguarding:

Ensure no valuables are left in your vehicle overnight. Ensure items that may draw the attention of an opportunist are also not left in vehicles. such as jackets, bags etc. Keep your vehicles locked and secured. Where possible, if you have CCTV with movement activation, ensure this is switched on in the evenings, and utilise security lighting where possible.

If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.beds.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.
